This is a close-up of a galaxy marble I made. It is about 1 inch in diameter and has fine silver foil inside to make the small planets. The larger planets are made of glass.

I made this marble (about 1 1/4 inch diameter) last weekend. I like the reaction between the two different glasses.

I have been using shards of a type of glass that has lots of silver in it and therefore changes color depending on the chemistry of the flame. These three marbles are about 1 1/4 inches in diameter. They vary from brown to green with some "oil slick" patches.

Ever since taking Wil's marble class I have been going crazier making marbles. This one is about 1 1/4 inches in diameter. It is a vortex marble - it looks like a tornado is inside.

I am finally getting pictures posted from the marble class Kate and I took at Salado Arts Workshop. Wil "Boxfan" Menzies moved to Salado and within a couple of weeks was teaching here. We had a great couple of days making marbles and watching Wil demo. A day without marbles is like a day without sunshine (or something like that!) :) The marble is about 1 1/4 inches in diameter and the mushroom pendant is about 1 inch by 2 inches.

Happy Easter!

I made a basket of glass eggs for Easter. Most of them are about 1 inch wide and about 1 1/2 inches long. I hope everyone is having a great Easter today.

I made these beads yesterday during my class with Caitlin Hyde at Blue Moon Glassworks in Austin. More pictures to follow - made more great beads today. If you ever get a chance take her class - she is a wonderful teacher and you'll learn bunches! Wait until you see my horse - he started out life as a dog...
