Demo at Blue Moon Glassworks

Jim and Rose at Blue Moon Glassworks in Austin were kind enough to ask me to demo a marble at the Fireflies meeting last night. I made a marble using ivory glass and Psyche shards. I had lots of fun and I hope everyone else did also. I will get a picture of the marble posted when it comes out of the kiln.

I made this marble last weekend out of boro glass also (Pyrex is an example of boro.) It is a challenge to get a good picture of a mostly clear marble. This one is about 3/4 inch in diameter.

I made this boro marble last weekend. It is about one inch in diameter and has a couple of colors in there with a "wispy" look.

I made these three marbles last night using the new "bump" marble mold I got at Blue Moon Glassworks in Austin. Jim, thank you so much for getting that mold - "Bumpy" is my new favorite. If you want to see it in action, come to the Fireflies meeting at Blue Moon Glassworks on August 28th. I will be doing a demo on marble making there. We'll see how many times I drop the marble off the punty. :)

All of these marbles are about 1 1/4 inches in diameter.
The marble on top was made with an ivory base and silver foil with one of the Vetrofond odd lots as an accent.
The marble in the middle has an ivory base with dots of black, and two different silver glasses.
The marble on the bottom has a base color of opal yellow with a twistie made of silver glasses, rubino and intense black.
